Important Tips To Be A Good Listener!

I being a listener of all those sweet nothings myself...would like to share some of the tips about becoming a good listener, which I got from here and there with you all, in good hope that we all become good listeners of each other, and stop trying to step out of other's opinions and suggestions!

• Encourage the speaker.

• Ask questions. It shows interest.

• Do not interrupt.

• Do not change the topic.

• Show understanding and respect.

• Pay attention, concentrate.

• Avoid distraction.

• Show empathy.

• Be open-minded. Do not let preconceived ideas and prejudice prevent you from listening.

• Concentrate on the message and not the delivery.

• Recognize the nonverbal communication, such as facial expressions, eye contact, etc. They might be communicating a different message from the verbal.

• Listen to feelings and not just words.
